Spring has sprung, which also means that it’s baby shower season!  I recently had the honor of throwing a girlfriend of mine and her hubby a baby shower brunch. They and 20 of their close friends and family came to Nashville from California to Minnesota to celebrate this sweet couple and their baby girl, Emma Ruth, who will be here at the end of June.

Here is a quick glimpse into their special day!

I hired my go-to photography goddess, Jessica Gann of Blue Vinyl Photography to capture not just their special day, but to capture a few sweet shots of just them and that beautiful bump. I believe that every baby shower should be captured in the way that Jess did…it’s priceless. Plus, when you have a fashion blog like Erica does (check out her blog, Styling By Erica), and you look that amazing 30 weeks pregnant, pictures must be taken!

Erica and I got together and planned out the menu for their brunch weeks in advance. It was complete with a mimosa bar (sporting a bottle or two of non-alcoholic champagne for the pregnant mama), whisky for the guys, cheese and meats, fruits, fondue, country hashbrowns (her fav), and macarons from a local patisserie. I laid them all out on our island on top of a sheet of butcher paper that I hand-lettered. It’s the little touches that don’t have to be expensive that can make an event classy and unique!

Like I mentioned, the Reid’s guest list included both local Nashvillian friends as well as friends who came in from California and Minnesota. We wanted this to be a couple’s shower to celebrate both parents-to-be, and because couple’s showers are more fun! We had a full house filled with lots of love and cute baby stuff! Plus, the weather that day was sunny and 72, which meant that our deck was the place to be!

A huge thanks again to Jess from Blue Vinyl Photography for the amazing photos, Fine and Dandie Paperie for the chic invitations, Sweet Darling Patisserie for the yummy macarons, and to everyone who came out to celebrate Josiah, Erica, and baby Emma! We can’t wait to meet her!
